buy vouchers?
Yes - you've got the flexibility to use your credit card
or your paypal account through Paypal's secure
payment gateway.
Standard delivery arrangements
Our standard delivery is first class with same day postage for
orders received before 12.00 weekdays.
Urgent delivery
arrangements
Look for "add special instructions" on the card payment page
following entering your card number and use this facility to let us
know if delivery is needed in under 48 hours. Ensure you have
given a day time contact phone number and email address as we may
need to make an additional charge to ensure delivery by the
specified date.
If your order is very urgent, please ring, and leave a message
if calling after normal working hours. We are happy to
arrange couriers or guaranteed next day delivery. Courier costs
vary with distance from base and will need to be advised
individually. We make an additional charge of £5 plus the cost of
courier or special postage. We will send you an additional payment
request to cover these costs. Please make sure you will be
available at the email address given so that you may respond to
this email to ensure speedy delivery.
Why don't
we offer free post and packing like other companies?
The "free" post and packing offered by others is not free,
just well hidden. Some companies hide it in the mark up
and you turn up to find that other people have paid much
less. That really takes the shine off your day. Our
guests get the great service our traders offer at the same rate as
everyone else.
Then other companies hide the "free" P&P in the money they
bank from the high percentage of people who don't use the vouchers
because they don't really want the service. Well, with
the choice we offer, we don't see that as being very likely.
All in all, we think you'd rather pay the P&P.
How to
reduce the P&P
If you're giving to several members of your family, get all the
vouchers sent to you in the name of "Members of the McGifted
family" and hand them out yourself with suggestions of
how they might want to use the voucher. (But note the
FAQ below.)
Why do we need to
give the users name and address?
It's a security thing. A small number of our traders come to
people's homes or offer tuition in their own homes. For
their own personal safety, they may require vouchers in the
person's own name and address .
How long are vouchers
valid?
Vouchers are valid for 270 days (approximately 9 months.) During
this time, we'll hold your cash safe in a deposit account for
redemption and not use it to support the admin of the business.
Can voucher expiry
dates be extended?
With the choice we offer, we don't see this as being really
necessary. And for operational reasons, we can't replace
expired vouchers. But if you return vouchers over the value
of £25 to us before the end of the expiry period, we will reissue
them at 80% (at least) of face value. ( That reduction is to cover
our handling charges and to encourage you to use the vouchers to
support local businesses!)
Can vouchers be
transferred?
Strictly speaking, we don't offer transfers for security reasons
(See above). And we don't think you'll really want to
transfer vouchers as there's something to suit everyone. But
apart from the security issues, we're not really going to do
anything if you do transfer vouchers - after all, we are trying to
give work to some great independent companies.
Keeping your cash
safe
Our business model prioritises the safety of your cash, all of
which is paid into a separate deposit account set up for client
money. We then track your voucher through the 16 digit
security number and only on the day your voucher is presented do we
withdraw your cash to pay suppliers.
Privacy and data
protection promise.
We will only use your details to contact you in connection with
this order. Otherwise, we will not use your details to contact you
unless you specifically give us permission. We will not pass your
details to any 3rd party unless required by law to do so. We will
only contact the recipients of vouchers to obtain feedback.
We will not keep their details.
