The centre piece found its inspiration in the lobster cages that the sea has abandoned on the beach – a treasure chest containing gifts from the ocean. Flowing ribbon is chosen to fasten this necklace reflects the rope used to lower the cage into the sea. Japanese Glass Seed Beads create the spirals whilst, shell, copper & glass beads engage with 22 gauge artistic wire to fashion the centre feature of this necklace.
The Sand & Sea collection was inspired by the artist’s memories of walking along the waters edge when visiting the beach in Scotland.
“Reflecting upon the light that illuminates the grit & sand
that sits beneath the waters surface.
The pearls sit in a cluster of glass beads
Each having their own relationship with sand & sea.
The colours vibrate and dance upon the surface.
The surface of the skin now replacing the surface of the water.”
The jewellery is made to commission and will begin with a personal consultation between the artist and the gift recipient (or the gift giver if they prefer the necklace to be a complete surprise).
At the consultation stage, (which can be done by phone or face to face) the artist will discuss colours, texture & composition with the client to realise what their desire might be.
By exploring examples of her work, the artist will engage with the client in order to establish what their likes and dislikes are, and to gain insight into their personality
Jewellery is worn for many reasons that span from the decorative to healing.
Working together with the client these aspects will be taken into consideration to ensure that the finished work reflects and/or complements the wearers needs.
To complete the gift your customised jewellery is presented in a gift box accompanied by the artists words relating to the inspiration that lies behind the finished work.
You may wish to include a birthstone in the design, or customise the necklace to suit a particular anniversary. By selecting a higher priced gift option this will allow the artist to include, for example, 9 carat gold findings and/or semi precious gem stones into the design of your gift recipients unique piece of jewellery.
