How would you describe this Cabernet Sauvignon if it were a film or a car or a TV detective? Well perhaps if we put all the film buffs in a corner, they would not only to get to know their wines a bit better but also each other. And while the Top Gear fans might have difficulty in telling a red from a diesel, we think detectives between them the might just have a clue.
Mix the reds and the whites in your office, pull the cork on your team’s potential and give their performance a bit of bottle with a team wine tasting ice breaker. We’ve got 3 variations on this theme depending on your team’s previous wine tasting experience. Also ideal for entertaining clients and giving them a chance to be impressed by members of your team they may have only heard of so far.
1.Introduction to the basics of wine tasting and wine making
A tutored tasting of six wines from around the world with a focus on the international grape varieties. Ideal for those who would like to learn about grape varieties and selecting wines to complement their favourite foods.
2.The Intermediate’s Tasting
A tutored tasting of eight wines from around the world comparing wines from the old world with their new world counterparts including an element of blind tasting. An excellent choice for those who know something abut wines but wish to develop their tastebuds a little further.
3.A Wine Lover’s Treat
A glass of sparkling wine will break the ice and will be followed by a tutored tasting of eight wines from around the world with a focus on unusual wines and grape varieties including an element of blind tasting and a prize for the super-taster.
All tastings can be individually tailored to suit specific requirements. For example all red, all white, exclusively old or new world or focussing on one or two specific countries. The events are also suitable in a competitive environment as the blind tasting can easily be turned into a competition and a wine quiz can be introduced.
